I am a single parent of two daughters, one of them, being a type 1 diabetic. I recently applied for Healthy Families, just to find out my ex husband had enrolled my girls in the healthy families program, well we agreed in having the healthy families application i put in to be processed, my ex husband to cancel his case. It took the Healthy Families 60 days to finally cancel his application but unfortunately my application was not processed, Now i have to get re-enrolled and to top it all off, I have to wait 7 to 10 days just to find out if i qualify. I cannot afford heath insurance for me and my children and i also cannot afford for my diabetic daughter have a diabetic seizure, or the supplies she needs because of no health insurance. The welfare office takes to long just to see if I qualify for medi-cal I cannot spend a entire day due to my daughters condition. Something has to be done to the health care system! and also the system needs to be a little bit easier for those who really deserve the adequate help.
