Diana Carrasco

My name is Diana Carrasco, and I’m from Bakersfield, California.  I have been diagnosed with Lupus for the past 8 years, and it’s a chronic illness that affects the blood system and your immune system.  I have a 14 year old son that also has severe allergies, and he also has to see the doctor twice a week for allergy shots.  I have been going to the doctor numerous times throughout the years.

I have a 9 year old son who also has been recently without insurance.  I’ve been trying to get information about how to get insurance, and I have not been able to get any information successfully.  He’s been complaining of a condition for the past several months, and if I don’t find something soon to get him covered with health insurance, I probably have no other option but to send him to the emergency room.  I wish there was an easy way, an easier way, to help me get the information that I need, and to help him get covered.  Currently I would have to pay 350 dollars first in order to get Medi-Cal to pay the rest of it, and with me being on permanent disability and just getting social security, it’s very, very hard for me to get that covered.
