The State of California is not doing much for the mental health population. If you have a mental health problem, you can’t find a psychiatrist or a psychologist who is willing to help you honestly. They seem to be only interested in the fee, not the condition, and heaven help you if you have a personality disorder, eg., borderline personality disorder—they outright refuse to treat you by saying they are difficult and dreaded pts. Where in the heck are you supposed to get help?!! My daughter needs the help but as far as I can see nothing will be done until she harms herself or someone else. Don’t get me started on the insurance companies because they drop you like a hot potato when they find out that you just have diagnosed with a mental health problem, even though they have cashed in on all your premiums. Please include this in your fight for fixing our broken health care system.

There is Widespread Support for Reform
81% of voters agree with the statement "it should be public policy that government guarantee that all Californians have access to affordable health care insurance or other health care coverage."

did you know?
Currently one in five Californians have absolutely no health insurance. Without it, many people simply put off medical care until they end up in the ER – much sicker and requiring more care than they would have had they been visiting a doctor on a regular basis.
